Gaffers Tape is a special, self wound tape designed to temporarily keep wires and cables in place in the music and entertainment industry.  Named after a gaffer, the person responsible for the electrical department in the motion picture industry, gaffers tape uses a non reflecting vinyl coated cloth carrier with an aggressive, yet removable, synthetic rubber adhesive.  The matte finish vinyl coating absorbs, rather than reflects light.  The cloth carrier conforms well to wires and cable and tears easily by hand.  The pressure sensitive synthetic adhesive, has adequate tack to cover and protect wires and cable and is designed to remove clear after use.

Black gaffers tape is most common however it is supplied in many different colors, including white, red, blue, green, purple, gray, yellow, brown and burgundy. 

Gaffers tape can be supplied in any width.  Stock includes 1”, 2” and 3” wide rolls, 60 yards long.
