Filament Tapes contain fiberglass filaments with a BOPP, bi-axially oriented polypropylene film or a PET, polytetrafluoroethylene film backing. The fiberglass filaments provide superior tensile strength for a thin tape making it great for strapping and bundling light to medium loads. The film backings help orient the filaments and provide a degree of moisture resistance to the tapes.

Economy Grade: 98 - 125 psi tensile strength
- General Grade: 131 psi tensile strength
- Medium Grade: 175 - 275 psi tensile strength
- Premium Grade: 320 - 330 psi tensile strength
- Paper Backed Filament Tape: 180 - 200 psi tensile strength
- MOPP Strapping Tape: 90 - 95 psi tensile strength
MOPP, mono oriented or tensilized polypropylene tapes are strapping tapes that have relatively high tensile strength without the use of fiberglass filaments. These film backings are stretched during manufacturing in one direction to orient the molecules which increases the tensile strength. MOPP strapping tape about 3 mil (.003”, .076mm) is nearly as strong as economy grade strapping tapes that are 4 mil (.004”, .102mm) to 5 mil (.005”, .127mm) thick.
